Cheer Coach: Hannah Montoya
hannah.montoya@pueblod60.org
My name is Coach Hannah, and I am proud to lead the Centennial Cheer Program. My background in spirit programs began in middle school, and I continued my passion for performance as a member of the Varsity Pueblo County Dance Team in high school. Before stepping into my current role, I served as the Assistant Cheer Coach for two seasons, where I developed a deep appreciation for the program, its athletes, and its long-standing traditions.
I am a Cum-Laude graduate from CSU-Pueblo with a degree in Economics with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Marketing. As a coach, my focus is on fostering school pride, teamwork, and leadership while helping student-athletes grow as confident performers and positive role models. I believe in creating a supportive and disciplined environment where athletes can develop their skills safely, build lifelong confidence, and contribute to the proud legacy of Pueblo Centennial High School.
Dance Coach: Alex Decker
I’m a proud Pueblo native and Centennial High School alumna. I’ve been dancing since I was three years old, building my technical foundation and love for dancing at Sarah Shaw Dance Studio. I joined my first school team at Heaton Middle School as a cheerleader, and later as a varsity dance team member at Centennial, where I was honored for three years as an All-American UDA Dancer.
Dance has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m so excited to return to my roots and lead the next generation of dancers at Centennial. My goal is to create a team culture built on hard work, dedication, support, school spirit, and empowerment.
In addition to coaching, I’m also a cardiac RN with a strong passion for health and wellness. Whether in the hospital or on the dance floor, I’m committed to helping others grow and thrive.

Coach: Tracy Swearingen
I have spent nearly 35 years coaching high school football and building young athletes into leaders on and off the field. My coaching journey started right here at Centennial in 1987, where I was part of two state championships (1987, 1992) and a runner-up finish (1991). Over the years I’ve also coached at Pueblo West, Pueblo Central, and Pueblo County, including another state championship run with Pueblo West in 2007.
My philosophy is simple: “Getting better every day — as a better person, family member, community member, and student-athlete.” Winning games is always a goal, but my true mission is to prepare young men for life by teaching responsibility, accountability, and teamwork.
In addition to coaching, I served 25 years with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, including time as a SWAT Commander. Those experiences taught me the value of discipline, composure, and leadership under pressure — lessons I carry onto the field every day.
At Centennial, I take pride in continuing the rich tradition of Bulldogs football while focusing on the future, helping student-athletes grow, compete, and succeed in every aspect of life.
Boys Soccer

Coach: Jeff Greenwood
Email-Jeffrey.greenwood@pueblod60.
Coach Jeff Greenwood brings over 17 years of coaching experience to Centennial Boys Soccer, where he has served as head coach for the past three seasons. Before joining Centennial, Coach Greenwood dedicated himself to the club soccer community, helping players of all ages develop technical skill, tactical awareness, and a lifelong passion for the game.
Since taking the helm at Centennial, Coach Greenwood has guided the program with a vision rooted in both competitive success and personal growth. In his very first season, he led the team to a Co-SCL Championship and State Playoff birth, setting the tone for continued progress within the program. His leadership and commitment were recognized in 2023 when he was named Co-Coach of the Year.
Beyond the pitch, Coach Greenwood emphasizes the role of athletics in shaping character and preparing players for life after soccer. His coaching philosophy centers on using the sport as a vehicle to instill discipline, accountability, teamwork, and resilience. He believes strongly in preparing his athletes not only to succeed in competition, but also to grow into upstanding members of their communities, successful professionals, and, one day, proud fathers and role models.
Coach Greenwood’s passion for the game and dedication to player development continue to inspire those around him. Through his leadership, Centennial Boys Soccer strives to uphold a tradition of excellence both on and off the field.
Boys Tennis
Coach: Brad Gerler

I have coached for 12 seasons as the boys’ tennis coach at Centennial. Before I came to Centennial, I served as the women’s tennis coach at CSU-Pueblo and the boys’ coach at East High School. I have also spent time as an assistant coach at South and Poudre High Schools. I am also currently entering my second season as the girls’ tennis coach at East High School.
My ultimate goal as a coach is to teach life skills through athletics. In preparing my student-athletes to win on the court, I believe they are learning lessons that they can apply throughout the rest of their lives. I value team-work, communication, accountability, and hard-work. The thing that I consistently preach to my team is that we need to focus on the things that we can control; our attitude, our concentration, and our effort. The unique aspect about tennis is that there are no officials or referees on the court. Players are required to call their own lines and basically serve as their own umpire during the match. In doing this, players need to have the confidence to call their opponent’s shots out, but also the honesty and integrity to do that in a fair manner.
It is my belief, regardless of a player’s success on the court, if they can learn the skills and lessons that tennis teaches, then they will be prepared to be high-functioning and contributing members of the community.I am very proud of the 42 individual state qualifiers that I have coached in my tenure at Centennial. Our second place finish at regionals in 2019 and our league and regional championships in 2015 are definitely the highlights of my coaching career. But, the thing that I am most proud of is the fact that every player that I have coached at Centennial has graduated and I am so excited to see the people that my former players are becoming.
Volleyball
Coach: Anthony Gonzalez
Anthony has been coaching high school volleyball for 10 years. This is his 4th year at Centennial. He stresses a positive, growth oriented mindset in the program that he wants to persist long after the players have moved on in their lives. His love for volleyball was born from watching his daughter play. He hopes his players will remember him for being protective, supportive, and uplifting in all aspects of their high school experience. He works to instill a sense of pride and positivity through the program. He also believes we should appreciate the history and preserve the positive traditions here at Centennial.
