Hello Bulldogs!

I am Olivia (Liv) Mikaelian. I am born and raised from Albuquerque, NM. I moved to Pueblo, CO fall of 2020 to start my college career. Pueblo quickly became home and I fell in love with the community and everyone in it.

I graduated in May of 2025 from CSU Pueblo with my Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences and my Masters of Science in Athletic Training. While I completed my 3+2 degree plan to get both of my degrees on the accelerated path- I was an NCAA Division II track and field athlete. I finished my career with All American honors, as well as All RMAC honors.

I have a true passion for athletics and sports medicine,  and I love working at the high school level. My goal is to teach the kids about their athletic injuries- while also help find themselves outside of their sport. I am here to support them throughout all things in life and I love getting to know them all!

I've been at Centennial as the First Aid Responder for 5 years now. I graduated from Centennial High School in 2019. I've been an EMT for 7 years, getting my certification while I was in high school. I worked at Parkview Medical Center in the Emergency Department as an EMT for 2.5 years. I always enjoy coming back to Centennial to work with the athletes each year and getting to watch them play and excel with every season!

I am entering my fifth season at Pueblo Centennial, where I have the privilege of coaching both wrestling and football. I spent two years as the assistant wrestling coach before stepping into the role of head coach. I am passionate about helping our student-athletes develop their skills, confidence, and character. I’m a proud graduate of Pueblo Centennial and have earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from CSU-Pueblo in Spring 2024.

Aside from coaching, I teach Physical Education at Nettie S. Freed Expeditionary K-8, and I will be entering my second year in that role. I believe strongly in the power of sports to teach valuable life lessons, and my coaching philosophy is built around three key principles: effort, attitude, and respect. I always encourage students to give their best effort — when they do, I’m proud to support and guide them every step of the way. Maintaining a positive attitude, whether winning or losing, is crucial because sports are about humility, resilience, and growth. Respect for teammates, coaches, officials, and everyone involved in the game is essential, and I believe that learning to show respect in sports will serve students well in all areas of life.

In the summer we typically compete at 3-4 summer wrestling tournaments/events. Most events allow incoming freshmen to compete if they would like to. Please reach out to me if you’re interested.

My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where students can learn, improve, and most importantly, enjoy their time in athletics while building important life skills.

Girls Basketball Coach Tara Hernandez

This is Tara's 11th year coaching at Centennial High school, and 9th year as the head coach. I’ve enjoyed coaching some amazing athletes here at Centennial through the years.

It’s always been more about life lessons and helping these young ladies develop both on and off the court. We want everyone to feel they have a role in this team and look forward to meeting new freshmen and new students interested in Girls Basketball. We will be doing some off-season open gyms and looking to play in some local tournaments. Should you have any questions, here is my contact info. Thank you for considering Centennial High School, as you would be making a great choice!

Each year brings new faces to our program and a new set of goals. Can’t wait to meet prospective players to add to our Girls Basketball program. We have found success in past seasons and look to grow from those experiences. Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you, Coach T!
