What We Do
Mission and Vision
The Mission of the Centennial High School Counseling Program is to provide ALL students with a comprehensive counseling program to achieve growth in academic, personal/social, and career competencies in order to achieve success in college or the workforce.
WE CANNOT PROVIDE LONG-TERM THERAPY, HOWEVER, WE CAN SUPPORT IN
MANY DIFFERENT WAYS INCLUDING CONNECTING YOUR STUDENT WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS.
Social and Emotional
- Individual brief-solution focused counseling, small-group counseling, and classroom lessons
- Build and nurture self esteem
- Conflict resolution and coping strategies
- Target and Crisis Team support and intervention for all students
- Collaborate, refer, and consult with school and community agencies
Academic
- Advisement for academic planning including course selections
- Advocate and accommodate individual educational needs
- Promote school and community enrichment opportunities
- Analyze standardized test results for placement and advising
- Interpret and access personal records and transcripts
Career
- Helping students navigate the ICAP Process
- College/Career awareness, exploration and procedures
- Enrichment/internship opportunities
- College and Career Fairs
